What is a Battle Buddy?
The Veteran’s Sisters Battle Buddy Program is a Peer-to-Peer support system that connects female Veterans together to form a support network.
A Battle Buddy is a companion and an advocate in stressful situations like medical appointments and court hearings, or when reporting sexual assault or rape.
We help each other through the unique challenges female Veterans face after MST, including:
-
Navigating the VA Claims Process
-
Having an advocate with you at your Compensation and Benefits Medical Examinations and hearings
-
Attending medical appointments in primarily male-focused VA Health Care Facilities

How does the Battle Buddy Program work?
We have walked in your shoes, facing the complex effects of MST and PTSD, which is why many choose to give back.
Every program member is screened for proof of military service at the time they became a member.
Once approved, you may Request a Battle Buddy at any time, to get help for regularly scheduled appointments and social events.
Want to help others? You may need a Battle Buddy for a while before you are in a place where you can be someone else’s Battle Buddy, but this is a great way to pay it forward.
Why Become a Battle Buddy?
Help is everything from assistance filing a claim or having a Battle Buddy with you at your Compensation and Benefits Medical Examinations and hearings
